SHERA Board As Exterior Facade Board in Factory Renovation

SHERA Boards were selected as the board of choice in a factory renovation project in Slovakia.

The goal was to transform an ugly, corrugated steel siding of a factory into a more vibrant and modern looking building.

Wooden battens were installed onto the old facade wall.

SHERA Board can be installed on wood or steel studs depending on your needs and also supply screws for use with all thicknesses of SHERA Board on either wood or steel frames.

A breathable, waterproof membrane was used to prevent water penetration from rain when used with SHERA Boards which are the perfect rain screen cladding board.

The pre-painted boards were then installed horizontally to give a striking three-colour effect to the exterior facade wall.

The end result was a huge improvement on the old factory wall.

SHERA Board was also used for the roof underlay / soffits...

The end result was a brand new looking, striking appearance for the building, boosting the image for the factory and the surrounding area.

Beautiful Decorative Cladding with the Deline Plank Range

This reference project shows how versatile the SHERA Deline Plank range for use in decorative cladding applications.

In this case SHERA Deline Plank has been used to highlight sections of the interior wall of an office reception - our office in fact!

Above you can see how the SHERA Deline planks have been used to make the waiting area, andan otherwise boring wall look striking in its design and a real eye catching part of the reception area.

And the Deline plank, in this case painted on the project with a golden teak type colour, made for a great material for the decorative interior cladding application in the company meeting room too, sure to impress any visitors and also help deflect sound due to its grooved finish.

This colour went really well in contract to the dark marble of the floor tiles and created a warm, relaxing and modern atmosphere.

SHERA Plank can be used on Contemporary AND Traditional Exterior Siding Applications

SHERA Plank can be used in modern as well as traditional exterior facades.

The project below was done in Lithuania and the new housing estate was supplied with SHERA Plank from our Authorised Stockist JSC Paladija.

You can see the planks used are the 'traditional' square cut edge planks installed in the overlapping style, but they are used on a modern house design along side dark grey coloured slate/block like facade which gives a striking effect.

We think this is a fine example of how SHERA Plank can be used for striking aesthetic designs on both modern and traditional housing desisns.

Case Study of SHERA Product Versatility

This is a really great project and an example of the versatility of the full range of SHERA products.

The building is a private house/villa, in a beautiful location overlooking the ocean in Cyprus.

Exterior Walls

Starting from the exterior walls, two types of SHERA board were used.

Exterior Rendered Wall, Using SHERA Board 12 mm

On the rendered wall, a standard fibre mesh was used to cover the entire boards exterior, followed by MAPEI coloured render material, which was applied over the mesh as per the standard installation method, giving a perfect coloured rendered finish with no blemishes.

If you look closely you can see expansion joints have been included during the construction process to cater for normal building movement, as per the standard SHERA Board installation process for 'seamless look' exterior wall applications.

Exterior Wall with a Modern, Concrete Look, Using SHERA Board 15mm

SHERA Board 15mm thickness, frequently used as a floor board, was in this case used for the exterior wall, and was left with a concrete look, for a really modern, striking visual effect.

Below you can see the SHERA Board with concrete look extending around the lower exterior floor wall to the side of the patio, which contrasts really well with the dark stone effect patio floor tiles.

Interior Decorative Wall, using SHERA Deline Shiplap Plank

The interior wall around the enclosed fireplace has been clad with our latest modern looking plank range, SHERA Deline, which has then been painted in a dark anthracite colour. We think you will agree it looks great!

You can see how SHERA Board with concrete effect has also been continued from the exterior into the interior wall too, and we think the contrast in the colours of the downstairs interior walls, which combine a concrete look and anthracite dark colouring is a really great combination; especially when you cap all that off with a white floor and ceiling finish.

Garden Fencing

Plot & Garden Fencing Using SHERA Fence

The perimeter of the house plot is fenced using SHERA Fence with steel fence posts, all painted in a white finish.

You can see below how SHERA Fence is installed using steel posts and the shot below shows both sides of the fence: from the perspective of the house owner looking out - smooth fencing, no posts; and from the perspective of outside the house, where the fence posts are installed neatly and painted white to blend with the fence.

Here's a shot from another perspective, where you can see SHERA Fence around the perimeter of the house, viewed from inside the plot, on the rear patio area.

SHERA Planks in Extreme Weather Conditions

SHERA Plank is a fibre cement plank, which is produced from cellulose fibres and cement, which is cured under extreme heat and pressure. The result: a very tough fibre cement product that can be used for exterior siding application in a wide variety of environmental locations and weather conditions.

This particular example shows SHERA Plank in teak surface profile that was installed in a vertical style as opposed to the more 'normal' style being horizontal, overlapping style; and the planks in this case were painted locally.

SHERA Planks come in a variety of colours (refer to this link for details), but also in uncoloured format that allows local painting in colours of local preference.

SHERA Plank is tested to EN12467 standards which included 'durability' testing such as freeze and thaw testing.

Multiple SHERA Products in Villa Project

This case study shows how versatile SHERA Products really are!

SHERA Boards have been used for the exterior wall in a seamless stucco look.

The wood coloured siding is the SHERA 'splendid plank' (shiplap style) in “Yellow Flame" edge profile with a Cassia wood grain surface texture.

The planks have been painted with a wood stain to give the beautiful wooden appearance you can see in the pictures.

The Decking you see in the image below uses SHERA Floor Plank, in Tropical Oak, colour through format.

SHERA Board Used on Drywall Application for Office Building

This reference project shows construction of an office building, built as part of an existing factory, that uses a lot of SHERA materials.

The images below show the construction in progress, showing the steel structure and suitability of SHERA boards for drywall applications.

You can clearly see the exterior building boards taking shape on the facing wall (SHERA Board 12mm thickness), along with the circular window design using SHERA Board 6mm.

Circular Windows

In the design above you will notice the inclusion of circular windows.

SHERA Boards 6mm thickness was used for this type of circular window construction due to their high degree of flexibility.

Interior Wall

SHERA Deco Board was used for the interior too, due to the decorative surface profile and will be coloured green.

There will also be a red board feature in the interior, which will be standard 12mm SHERA Board.

There is also a red board feature in the interior wall, which uses a standard 12mm SHERA Board, cut to a striking design and painted in situ.

Exterior Siding on Housing Using SHERA Deline Shiplap Plank

The Deline Plank shown is the DL – 12 profile with straight grain surface texture with a wood stain colour applied on site.

We think you will agree it looks fantastic and gives the house a superb modern look with a striking combination of exterior facade materials and colours.

SHERA Deline comes in a size of 10mm thickness by 220mm width and 3000mm length, giving that extra bit of strength over 8mm planks.

All sizes are available in either smooth or straight grain profile.

Deline planks are currently uncoloured but can be painted prior to installation or on site with any water based acrylic paint.

SHERA Boards Used in Exterior Wall and Curved Porthole Application in Cyprus

This is an interesting and striking application for SHERA Boards which also shows there extreme versatility in terms of the flexibility of fibre cement boards.

The steel structure of the building is progressing with SHERA 12mm fibre cement boards being used on the exterior walls.

As we zoom in we can see the circular windows which have a diameter of 1.20 metres, thus R= 600mm, which makes it a very demanding task with a requirement for a high degree of flexibility for the board material being used.

SHERA 4mm fibre cement board was a perfect match for this application and worked very easily in achieving those curves. As you can see from the image below the project is progressing nicely!
