SHERA Decking is an A1 Fire Rated Decking Product

SHERA Decking Plank is an A1 rated fire resistant decking material suitable for exterior balcony applications that require a minimum fire A2 rating.

Fire Rating Requirements for Exterior Balconies

In the UK and an increasing number of European countries a minimum A2 fire rating is required for decking materials on all exterior wall balconies on buildings over 11m height in the UK. Popular materials such as wood plastic composite decking or any materials that are 'B' rated are not suitable. It's only a matter of time before this becomes regulation in all European countries.

SHERA Decking also comes in a 'clip lock' format, which uses T-clips to attach the decking to joists rather than top drilling screws and screw plugs.

The wood coloured siding is the SHERA 'splendid plank' (shiplap style) in “Yellow Flame" edge profile with a Cassia wood grain surface texture.

Novel Use of SHERA Floor Plank

OK, so it's not exactly a 'floor', far from it, but we thought you would like to see just how versatile SHERA products can be, and to demonstrate that a name is just a name; in fact the only limit is your imagination!

In the image below I thought I recognised a certain floor plank when passing an outhouse at a friend's place and sure enough, he told me he had used a section of SHERA floor plank as a window sill!

The window in question was placed in an old woodshed and has a nice stained glass effect to liven up an otherwise old outhouse building. The new window sill has the appearance of wood, is tough beyond belief, will never rot or be eaten by insects, extremely functional, and can be painted in the same colour as the surrounding window frame... job done!
